Sean Rodgers' love of woodcraft stems from his father, who spent a career as a carpenter and furniture maker. When he was young, Sean would dig through the scrap bin at the workshop, selecting pieces of wood to build whatever he could think up. From a box to organize his baseball cards, a table for his tree fort, and even a small entertainment center for his Nintendo! It became apparent that, no matter what he built, he did it not only out of necessity but out of true passion for the craft.

In 2013, Sean created his own woodshop for hobby work, fabricating items for friends and relatives in his free time. As he completed more work and honed his techniques, he found himself spending just more time woodworking, than sitting behind a desk in the corporate world.

As a result, Electric Lab Woodcraft was officially established in 2020, at which point Sean decided to dedicate his focus more of his professional life to woodworking. The name is an homage to the energetic Labrador puppy that he adopted around the same time.
